Further development of the project will look at ways to go deeper into these investigations of moments of life on the islands, memories, imagined memory, struggles to stay, the devastation of leaving, the reality of living in isolation.

This is not just a project consisting of paintings of islands, it also focuses on island people, their stories, the voices of current and past inhabitants, folklore, songs, poems and traditions.

A high quality limited edition book of images of the paintings along with the story of each of the islands will be launched in Naas Library and Cultural Centre on Thursday 5th November.

The book can be preordered by emailing pameladebri@gmail.com.
